Seasonal Coffee!!

Seasonal Coffee!!

Our friends at origin coffee have now started roasting in house!!! They have started with their own seasonal blend that is a mix of three top quality beans from around the world. Jon and James spent a few hours tasting their new blend and we were smiling – its great. Coffee beans are a fruit and flavours vary with the time of year. Origin can therefore achieve great flavour specific to the beans that are their best at specific times of year. As they buy direct from the grower. It generally means the grower gets a better price, even compared to the certified coffee schemes. We do love coffee at Urban Beach and we hope you will love it too!!!

Vodka trip - Schiedam

Vodka trip - Schiedam

Vodka – It’s the base spirit in a lot of great cocktails!!! We pour Ketel One vodka so thought it best to head over to Schiedam (Holland) for a thorough tour of the ketel One distillery.
The Nolet family of Schiedam, Holland, has been distilling for more than 300 years. The formula for Ketel One vodka was inspired by the Nolet family’s ten generations of distilling experience. Settling for nothing less than perfection, a member of the family still tastes each batch of vodka before it is released. Prized for its smooth taste, Ketel One starts with the finest wheat and water. As the distillate is heated over a gentle, hand-stoked fire (in the copper pot still “Distilleerketel #1″ – pictured), the temperature and alcohol levels are regulated to ensure the best possible vodka. Not surprisingly, Ketel One has developed a passionate following among vodka connoisseurs.
