Live Music Sunday!

Thursday, November 24th, 2011

Come in from the cold this coming Sunday evening (November 27th) and visit our little sister, The Urban Reef Restaurant! Snuggle up next to their log burning fire or in one of their squishy booths and tuck into ‘three courses’ (and a cocktail!) all for £20. You’ll also be able to listen to some soulful songs from resident musician, Jon Cotton. The perfect way to end the month!

To book give the guys a call on: 01202 443960 and if you want to get your taste buds watering, take a look at their sample menu under the ‘menus’ tab via:

And if you fancy having a go at making this month’s ‘Sunday night live’ cocktail at home, then have a little look at this recipe…

Urban Rose

How to make an ‘Urban Rose’ – traditionally known as a ‘Rose Gimlet’ -

50ml gin

15ml rose syrup

2-3 dashes angostura bitters

A dash of lime juice

Pour all of your ingredients into a Boston Shaker (the silver thing that us bar folk use to shake cocktails). Stir in some cubes of ice and strain (using a drink strainer which looks like a little sieve) into a martini glass. To finish it off, we think it looks nice to add a coil of lemon, as pictured ;)

A celebration of autumn and winter

Scarecrows welcome

Join us this Sunday November 5th from 12.30pm to celebrate all that is autumn and winter in our Harvest Festival!

We’ll be out on the deck serving mulled wine, spiced cider and tasty pork rolls (£7 for a roasted pork roll with stuffing and home made apple chutney, dressed mixed salad leaves and chunky chips - yummy!) For those of you with a sweet tooth, we’ll have cakes courtesy of the very lovely baker Kay. She’ll be making apple and carrot cake, and she’ll even be making some toffee apples for the kids – and for the big kids of you out there ;)

Solo artist, ‘One Man Destruction Show’, will be performing throughout the afternoon too. (He’s not quite as scary as he sounds!)

So be sure to wrap up warm and come and join us. We’ll be finished around 6pm so you can go on to enjoy some firework displays too.

Scarecrows welcome. X
