Join us at the Urban Reef for the Bournemouth Air Festival 2012

Bournemouth Air Show 2012

The Bournemouth Air Festival is only just around the corner now. Stick your nose up into the air and smell the excitement and anticipation, it’s all around.

And as one of our Urban customers, it’s only right that you get to enjoy some of the best views in town for the event. So head down to Urban Reef across the Air Show weekend – that’s any time from Thursday August 30th to Sunday September 2nd – and you’ll be able to enjoy all of the action and a bite to eat too.*

On Friday (31st Aug) and Saturday (1st Sept) you can also indulge in our VIP lunch package. For £45 per person step out on to our balcony and sup on an arrival drink of Prosecco or a glass of Urban Pomms (our version of Pimms!). Get comfy and cast your gaze out to sea to catch all of the air displays, before tucking into a sumptuous three course BBQ feast. And to wash it all down, you can enjoy half a bottle of our house wine – white, red or rosé – your choice.

If you’re a music lover and you’re eating with us on the Thursday, Friday or Saturday evenings, you’ll be able to enjoy some songs from the Corona and Wave 105 music stage, situated right opposite Urban Reef!  You’ll be able to sing along to songs from the likes of Scouting for Girls, Rizzle Kicks and Newton Faulkner – that’s right folks, they really will be performing right on our doorstep.

To end the weekend in style, we’ll have our resident musician Jon Cotton, performing on the deck on Sunday afternoon. The perfect close to an action packed Air Show weekend.

So there you have it, have a look on our menus page to view our Air Show menu. Give Katie an email: to book or call: 01202 443960.

Much love. x

Meet the ‘Secret Surf Spot’ band

The Secret Surf Spot

As Eric Idle and the Monty Python boys said, ‘Always look on the bright side of life!’ That’s what we like to do too. Yes, we know it’s August and it’s horrible and rainy out there, but you can still get out and about and have a marvellous time! Especially if you come to see us at Urban Reef.

Join us this Friday evening (on the 17th August when we reckon the rain will have stopped) and you’ll be able to kick back and chill out to some tunes from the ‘Secret Surf Spot’ band. A bunch of great guys who play their tunes to a background of surfy images. Have a little look here at their Facebook page:

Head on down from 7.30pm and grab a pew on the deck. If you’re feeling a little peckish, you’ll be able to tuck into some tasty pizzas too. The guys from the New Forest Pizza company will be coming down with their wood ovens to cook these tasty pizza treats! Find out more about them here:

And of course, the Urban bar will be open so you’ll be able to purchase some booze to wash everything down with.

See you Friday and do a little sun dance to encourage the sun to show his face ;)

May we introduce ‘Mr Rodrigo’!

Thursday, August 2nd, 2012

A cocktail with a bit of a kick!

Do you fancy a drink with a bit of kick and lots of bite? If so our ‘Mr Rodrigo’ is for you! Read on to find out how to make this cocktail treat:

Ingredients -

• 1 shot of our finest tequila ‘Casco Viejo Reposado’

• 1 shot of Cointreau orange liqueur

• 2 shots of pineapple juice

• Dash of lime

• 1 twist of our infamous pepper mill

• And finally, half a shot (or a full shot if you’re brave enough) of our very own Jalapeno infused gomme!

Method -

• Add all of your ingredients into a Boston Shaker, then shake em’ up – vigorously! For 15.78 seconds to be precise ;) before being strained into a brandy snifter filled with crushed ice.

It’s very simple, fresh and spicy! When drinking it, imagine yourself away in some far off exotic place…
