Introducing ‘small plates’ to the New Urban Reef Lunch Menu!

Urban Reef is a funky Bournemouth cafe by day, offering fresh, local and seasonal produce. Our exciting new lunch menu offers a choice of small plates that can be enjoyed on their own or combined to make a delicious meal for sharing. A selection of favourite meat, fish and veg dishes has been joined on the menu by some new ones to try.

What’s new about the lunch menu?

Our chefs use the most amazing seasonal produce available in the local area in their dishes. Mussels, an Urban Reef favourite in the summer months, are in their prime at this time of year – bigger and tastier due to the choppier waters and stronger sea currents from October to March.

How does the menu reflect Urban Reef?

Everything we grow on the Urban Farm we use in our restaurants. We also work closely with passionate local suppliers to make sure the freshest, local organic ingredients are used in Urban Reef dishes. The new lunch menu reflects this, focusing on seasonal produce that is sourced from local people that grow, catch or produce it. The meat comes from Springfields Butchers in Poole, fish from local day boats and cheese, vegetables and wine are all sourced from small, local businesses in Dorset, Somerset and Hampshire.

How was the new lunch menu created?

The new lunch menu was lovingly created by the Head Chef at Urban Reef working with Chef Dean, Group Executive Chef for Urban Guild. We’ve already had some great feedback from you since launching at the beginning of December.

The new lunch menu was designed to reflect the relaxed social style of our Bournemouth seafront café and our ‘small plates’, little dishes of meat, fish and vegetables can be ordered on their own or in a combination, and are deliciously satisfying either way.
